Why Partner With the Institute?
Partnering with the Institute grants access to a wealth of expertise and knowledge. This includes enhancing work-based learning programs, developing effective talent attraction and retention strategies, and increasing connectivity of education and workforce resources across the state.
The Institute aims to connect thought leaders to address workforce and education challenges through policy implementation, access to funding, professional development and the adoption of practices that improve organizational functionality.

How Can You Partner With the Institute?
Collaborative Programs
Engage with multiple programs, share input as a business, community, education or government stakeholder. Programs of the Institute include Work and Learn Indiana, the Talent Resource Navigator and Skills-Based Talent Strategy. Each focuses on skill alignment talent attraction, retention and workforce development.
Policy Implementation
Support workforce development and talent pipeline initiatives at the state and national levels by engaging with the Institute on policy matters. The Institute can help stakeholders gain a better understanding of policies enacted at both the state and federal levels, and share insight into connecting with potential funding opportunities and engaging with state agencies to ensure progress on workforce and education initiatives.
Resource Sharing and Professional Development
Join a network of partners to share best practices and resources around work-based learning, barriers to employment, engaging diverse talent pools, professional development workshops and events to promote and explore workforce and education challenges. Be a thought leader and contributor to the workforce development and talent space throughout the state of Indiana.
Research and Data
Access research and data to identify workforce trends, skills gaps and other factors that impact the talent pipeline. Use this information to inform decision making and program development.

Current Institute Partnerships and Projects

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education (CHE) partners with the Institute for Workforce Excellence’s Work and Learn Indiana program to:
- offer the statewide work-study program, Employment Aid Readiness Network (EARN) Indiana, allowing employers to receive a 50% wage reimbursement for hiring an eligible Indiana college or high school work-based learner; and
- increase engagement in work-based learning among employers and retain talent in the state of Indiana.

The Indiana Latino Institute (ILI) is partnering with the Institute for Workforce Excellence’s Work and Learn Indiana program to:
- increase internship matches for students involved with the Latino Institute internship and fellowship programs;
- give ILI access to track student participation in internship experiences, with the ability for ILI to reach deeper levels of student support and enhance student work-based learning outcomes;
- identify ILI students that are involved in ILI programming, with the potential of offering additional work-based learning funding and student support services; and
- allow employers access to a larger and more diverse candidate pool with the benefit of helping train, skill and retain exceptional talent in the state of Indiana.
